University of Texas

With just under 51,000 students, the University of Texas is a great asset to the city. The university is a huge reason why Austin is one of the most highly educated cities in the country with approximately 47 percent of the population having received a bachelor’s degree. With successful football, basketball, and baseball teams, UT has a lot of sports activities to offer to Austin residents.

Austin is also excited to have Austin FC, the first top division professional sports team in Austin. Austin FC will compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) starting in 2021. The stadium will host 20,500.
